SupermotoRidersCoalition: Obviously we all
got the news last week that you were injured in a
practice crash.
What are the extent of you injures and how did surgery
go?
DH:
I ended up tearing
all three of the ligaments in the front of my shoulder
and my collarbone was sticking up pretty high. They
sewed up the ligaments, drilled my collarbone, and tied
it down with kevlar!
SupermotoRidersCoalition :
When are you expected to be back on the bike and when
should we see you back racing?
DH: They
originally said 6 weeks, that puts me really close to
making the race in Shawano. So I'll be pushing to at
least be able to go and make points for the championship.
SupermotoRidersCoalition :
So you're still going after the SRC National
Championship?
DH: Ya I want it!
SupermotoRidersCoalition :
You won three out of the four motos this year and got a
flat tire in the one you lost. Were you expecting to
have such success early in the year?
DH: This year was
different for me, I haven't put so much pressure on
winning. I know that I put in the work, and I have good
winning capable equipment thanks to all my sponsors. So
I've just gone out and rode my race, and do the best I
can.
SupermotoRidersCoalition :
There are a small group of riders who can realistically
still win the title. What rider do you think is your
strongest competitor?
DH: Well as far as
points go its between Alexis (Marie-Luce), (Ryan)
Kearns
and myself. There are other riders
like Monte Frank and Mickey Dymond who are capable of
winning races, but have missed a round and are out of
the points chase
SupermotoRidersCoalition :
Thanks for your time and good luck with your recovery.
Anything you would like to add?
DH: Just a shout
out to all my sponsors, Escondido
